The Belarusian head of state expressed support for intensifying cooperation in key areas, primarily in transport, energy, industrial cooperation, mutual investment and trade.

Lukashenko plans to visit EU in 2019

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko plans to visit the European Union before the end of the year, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media on the sidelines of the Minsk Dialogue Forum "European Security: Stepping Back from the Brink" in the Belarusian capital on 7 October, BelTA has learned.

A population census started in Belarus on 4 October. People can fill out a questionnaire at census stations or online; data will also be collected during face-to-face interviews at people's homes.

The nuclear power plant being built in Belarus is compliant with all the modern safety requirements, BelTA learned from Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich during the international forum Russian Energy Week in Moscow on 2 October.

According to the source, members of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council authorized the redistribution of percentages of import customs duties among the budgets of the EAEU member states at the session in Yerevan, Armenia on 1 October.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “We've invested the Eurasian Economic Commission with the authority to track goods and label them. The commission has to guarantee that these forward-looking proposals will not become another trade barrier."

Belarus' export of meat products to Kazakhstan in January-July 2019 increased by 79.3% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
